About 2 years back, I decided to set up an experiment to see
which "dating" sites were most likely to leak or sell your
data, as well as how straightforward it was to get your
account removed. The word dating is in double quotes,
because the sites aren't really aimed at traditional dating.
The sites selected are more the type that are aimed at guys
whilst they're feeling horny (and presumably, ideally drunk)
with taglines such as "The facebook of sex", "fuck ugly
women today".

The method used to select the sites was simply to browse
porn torrents and click the accompanying adverts, giving
some fairly niche sites as well as some of the more
'mainstream' within that market.

The experiment ran for longer than expected, as having
created the mailbox filters I promptly moved onto another
project and largely forgot about the wide range of fuckbuddy
profiles I'd created until recently. The longetivity of the
test did allow me to look a little closer at the period
between sign-up and the receipt of spam (if any) to the
relevant addresses.

This page is an overview of the results - I may do a more
detailed writeup at some point when I have more time.
